What is RCCBC?

The Retail Cannabis Council of BC (RCCBC) is a registered, non-profit cannabis industry association that represents provincially licensed cannabis retailers to government at all levels. RCCBC was formerly the Association of Canadian Cannabis Retailers (ACCRES).

Founded in 2017 RCCBC is governed by an elected board of directors that hold 2 -year terms. We host an annual AGM in September of each year and members have the opportunity to have their say in the governance of the association.

Who can become a member?

Any provincially licensed retailer with an operating retail store located in BC that holds a provincial license in good standing.

Why should I join RCCBC?

Your membership supports active government relations efforts by the RCCBC on provincial issues like licensing density and combating the unregulated market.

 In addition, we have a federal advocacy agenda that including changes to marketing restrictions and edible dosage limits. In addition, you receive access to exclusive discounts via our partnership with CFIB. Click here to join now!

What are some successes RCCBC has seen related to government relations?

RCCBC was instrumental in the implementation of the following policy changes in BC for license holders. 

  • Pricing online
  • To the door delivery
  • Removal of requirement for non-transparent walls
  • Removal of security clearance requirements for staff
  • Direct Supply Purchasing

RRCBC is currently under NDA with the LCRB and works activity with our regulator on the development of cannabis policy.

How much does membership cost?

Membership is $750 annually for the first licensed store and $300 per additional store doing business under the same brand. Membership is billed annually in January and can be paid by EMT, credit card or cheque. 

This fee includes membership in the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB) which represents a savings on the CFIB membership of over 30%. Click here to join now!

I’m not a retailer. I’m a producer, processor, ancillary service. Can I still support RCCBC?

Yes! You can join RRCBC as an Associate member. Associate members are non-voting members of the Council that still have access to the work we do and the network we provide.

By joining RCCBC, your organization has a unique opportunity to increase exposure in the Canadian cannabis market and form valuable partnerships with cannabis retailers.

We facilitate networking through events; educational opportunities; and offer unique ways to showcase your business through sponsorships, speaking engagements and advertising opportunities available only to Associate Members.
